Alex has been a CPO in the Spokane area since 2008. She specializes in lower extremity prosthetics and orthotics. She specializes in elevated vacuum sockets for wound healing and in elite prosthetics and orthotics for para-athletes.

Joe has been a Licensed/certified prosthetist and orthotist since 2013. He started out as a technician and fell in love with this field of medicine so much, he decided to further his education and pursue his Prosthetics and Orthotics degree at the University of Washington to become a practitioner. He finds that the best part of his job is being able to help people’s mobility and quality of life improve. He is passionate about stroke rehabilitation and the expanding use of microprocessor prostheses.

On the weekends, he spends his time up in the mountains with his family and enjoys playing tennis.

Kelly has been a Prosthetist/ Orthotist since 2007. He originally chose this field because it allows him to connect with people while simultaneously using his unique set of skills to improve the quality of their lives. Kelly received his P &O training from the University of Washington and has practiced in Washington State for the past 15 years.

He enjoys the hands-on nature of the field and feels that the diversity of his patient’s needs keeps him engaged and motivated to come to work each day. Kelly focuses on treating patients using a team approach and highly values the input of other healthcare professionals.

Being born and raised in the great state of Washington, he is an outdoor enthusiast who spends as much time in nature as possible. He is currently working on developing his golf skills and is not afraid to admit that “it’s coming along slowly.” Although he dislikes the term, Kelly would describe himself as a “foodie.” Many of his evenings and weekends are spent trying new restaurants and finding interesting ways to grill/smoke various meats.

Kevin is originally from Minnesota where he completed his BS in Health Sciences from the University of Minnesota and later obtained his Masters in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. He then completed his prosthetic residency at the VA Hospital in Richmond, VA and later his orthotics residency with Evergreen in Federal Way, WA. Also, prior to residency, Kevin worked as an orthotic technician for several years at Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

“The primary thing that drew me to this field is the opportunity to have a significant and immediate impact on our patients’ lives with creative and custom solutions. It is always an amazing and emotional event to see a patient stand or walk for the first time since their injury, amputation, or onset of their condition”, says Kevin.

After graduating from Loma Linda University in 2018 with a Masters of Science in Orthotics & Prosthetics and receiving both the Academic Excellence Award in 2018 and the Rising Star Award in 2021 for community and career advancement, Kristen moved to the Pacific Northwest and began her career with Evergreen. She has a passion for athletics both professionally and personally having completed 2 marathons so far and actively seeking ways to facilitate the athletic pursuits of her patients.

Kristen is particularly inspired by the unique intersection of art and science in the field and loves to collaborate with patients to produce one-of-a-kind projects that are as functional as they are beautiful and reflect the individual personalities of her patients. In her free time, you will find Kristen riding bikes with her family, baking yummy desserts, and tending to her dahlias.

Mark received his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Walla Walla College in 2001. He was then drawn to the field of prosthetics and trained as a technical specialist in Portland for several years while concurrently attending Portland State University to further his education. Mark was committed to training as a practitioner and was able to attend the University of Washington completing a degree in orthotics and prosthetics. He was able to stay in Washington during his residency and completed his training in Spokane in 2008.

Mark has over 20 years of experience in the field, including 10 as the managing clinician for Evergreen’s Vancouver location. He has worked his way up from an entry level position to becoming the Director of Evergreen’s Center of Advanced Prosthetic Care, located in Vancouver. Mark now dedicates his time training and implementing the latest techniques and hardware related to prosthetics. Mark is committed to training future practitioners as the residency coordinator for Clark County in Washington.

Mark enjoys spending time with his family which includes a sphynx and labradoodle. When he has free time you will find him riding dirt bikes, skiing, boating, and hiking. Mark loves the community he has the privilege to serve and work with on a daily basis.

I was raised on a cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon. I went to college in Eastern Idaho where I met my wife, Sara, and started our family. I worked as the Director of Education at the Museum of Idaho for 6 years before deciding to change careers. I became interested in Prosthetics and Orthotics after being fitted for a custom knee brace to treat an ACL tear. I returned to school and completed a MS degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Washington.

While at the UW we had our third child and then moved to the Portland area to do an orthotics residency at the Shriner’s Hospital. In 2014, I began a prosthetics residency with Evergreen P&O at the Vancouver location. After the completion of my residency program, I worked at a couple of other Evergreen clinics before taking on the task of establishing a full time clinic in Longview. At this time, I also assumed responsibility of the Astoria location and developed it from a one-day-a-week clinic to four clinic days a week. In 2016 our fourth child was born. I enjoy camping, backpacking, mountain biking, and exploring new parts of the country.

Chad joined the Evergreen family in Tennessee in 2016 as a Prosthetist/Orthotist and Clinic Manager but relocated to North Carolina in January 2023 to take over as the Clinic Manager for our New Bern, Jacksonville, Morehead City and Goldsboro clinics.

Chad completed his graduate studies in Prosthetics & Orthotics in 2012 at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. Prior to that he achieved his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from The University of North Carolina in Wilmington, NC. Chad has been working with amputees for over ten years and has significant experience in a number of available treatments for amputees, including microprocessor technology. He is passionate about working with every patient to customize their care, in a way that will maximize their mobility function. He states, ‘’The first thing of utmost importance to me personally is to listen to my patients. I need to make them aware of their options and allow them to be part of every decision regarding their plan of care.” Chad and his wife Tiffany have 4 young children. In his spare time, Chad enjoys the beach and spending time with his family.

Andy Mathias joined the Evergreen family in Southeast North Carolina in 2024 as an ABC Certified CPO and Clinic Manager of our Jacksonville office. Andy attended Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine completing the Orthotics program in 2003 and the Prosthetics program in 2005. In May of 2000 Andy completed his undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Cardiac Rehabilitation.


With over Twenty years’ experience in the field and over eight hundred Prosthetic devices delivered to amputees, Andy specializes in Lower Extremity Prosthetics, as well as adult Orthotics. Andy enjoys working with patients of all age groups and is determined to assist each individual to achieve their true potential. Andy and Anna have one young daughter. She feels the O & P field is very rewarding and enjoys being a part of the success of each patient and developing relationships with each patient and supporting family members. Missy and her husband David have 3 children and 1 grandchild and their sweet chocolate lab Remi. Prior to joining Evergreen, she worked for Alliance Fitness Center in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Jennifer is a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. She understands the vital importance of one’s quality of life and is devoted to serve Evergreen’s patients by providing them support to the best of her ability. As a mother of an amputee, she understands the importance of excellent patient care and peer support, and she is committed to seeing that Evergreen’s patients receive the highest quality of service. Outside of work Jennifer enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.

David joined Evergreen Prosthetics & Orthotics in 2022. He prides himself on providing outstanding service to our Veterans and communicates directly with the VA purchasing agents to ensure they receive quality services from start to finish.

David also handles our shipping and receiving and works very diligently to make sure all patients items are ordered or sent for fabrication in a timely manner. David has been an amputee since he was a child and is very compassionate toward others facing any medical challenges and is often asked to talk with our patients. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies & tv shows, listening to music (especially from the 80’s) and playing his guitar. Around our office he is known as “the coffee man”, no one else makes the coffee like David.

Additionally, she taught medical terminology classes at the local community college, where she earned her degree.

Her desire to help others fueled her interest and kept her an integral part of the medical field in Goldsboro. Denise is married to Keith for over 35 years, and they have 2 married children and grandchildren. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their family. James enjoys working with his patients and being an intricate part of their care and success. James has two boys and enjoys spending time with them. Cooper joined the Evergreen family in North Carolina in 2023 as a Prosthetic/Orthotic Resident. Cooper completed his graduate studies in Prosthetics and Orthotics at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. Prior to that he achieved his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Kennesaw State University.

Cooper has a background in neuromuscular research in aging populations as well as evidence-based practice with outcome measures. He is passionate about helping patients achieve their personal goals and realize their true potential. He states, “Everyone is a super star in their own way, but if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will always live its life as if it is a failure.” Cooper and his German Shepherd spend their free time modeling railroads and chewing on tennis balls.

I lost my leg below the knee almost 3 years ago now and have been with evergreen ever since that happened and I have been treated with kindness and respect and patience and the people that work there have all been extremely professional they know what they're doing it's amazing how much they know what they're doing and everything has been done very quickly and every question I've had has been answered so I really really like this place and would recommend it to anyone that has lost a limb there is I think one other place that does this sort of thing for people and I had a little bit of experience with them I won't mention their name right now but I was not impressed at all so if you're looking for a place this is a place to go to either in Portland or Vancouver
