Bassel Mufarreh, CPO

Certified Prosthetist Orthotist – Spokane, WA

Bassel Mufarreh grew up in Burlingame, California, where his passion for working with his hands began at his father’s auto repair shop. His early love for athletics—playing basketball, football, and baseball—sparked a lasting fascination with anatomy, exercise science, and human performance. Combining his mechanical skills with his desire to help others regain mobility led him to a career in prosthetics and orthotics, where he can make a meaningful impact every day.

Bassel earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology with a minor in Psychology from Gonzaga University and completed his Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics at Loma Linda University. During his studies, he contributed to several innovative research projects, including analyzing lateral cutting movements in athletes, developing a prototype for a magnetically repulsed hip joint replacement, and studying the effects of added weight on prosthetic function. These experiences strengthened his foundation in biomechanics and reinforced his commitment to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care.

For Bassel, the most rewarding part of his work is seeing patients regain independence and confidence through their devices. One of his proudest moments was earning his full certification and hanging his credentials on the wall—a reminder of his dedication and growth in the field.

Outside the clinic, Bassel enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and camping throughout the Pacific Northwest. He’s also passionate about cooking and loves experimenting with new recipes on his Blackstone griddle. Extroverted and community-minded, Bassel finds joy in connecting with others—whether through shared adventures or meaningful patient relationships.
